Product Use & Care

Winway’s exquisite jewellery collection offers endless styling possibilities, allowing you to mix and match pieces to create a look that reflects your individuality. Each item is meticulously handcrafted in sterling silver, 14K, or 18K gold. To preserve their beauty, proper maintenance is essential for the metals, gemstones, and cultured freshwater pearls.

Protecting Your Jewellery

For longevity, remove jewellery before sleeping, exercising, or swimming. Avoid exposure to chlorine, saltwater, and harsh chemicals, as they can tarnish metals and damage pearls. Cultured freshwater pearls should never come into contact with water or cleaning agents—gently wipe them with a soft brush or cloth instead.

Cleaning Your Jewellery

For general cleaning, mix mild soap with lukewarm water and use a soft toothbrush to gently scrub intricate designs. For stubborn dirt, soak the jewellery in clean water (except pieces with pearls). To restore shine to tarnished silver, use a silver-polishing cloth (available at jewellers), though it won’t remove scratches.

Storing Your Jewellery

Keep jewellery away from sunlight, heat, and humidity. Store in a lined jewellery box, tarnish-resistant pouch, or a Mylar/polyethylene zip-lock bag. Avoid polyvinyl bags (like trash liners) and rubber containers, as they contain sulfur, which accelerates tarnishing. Do not store jewellery in bathrooms.

Note: Winway’s gift boxes are not designed for long-term storage, as they are not airtight and may lead to tarnishing over time.

Annual Maintenance

Since gold and silver are soft metals, regular wear can cause gradual wear and tear. We recommend an annual inspection by a professional jeweller to check clasps, settings, and soldering.

Bracelet Care

Winway’s stretchable snake-chain bracelets may loosen over time, especially with added charms. A new bracelet should fit snugly, with no more than a thumb’s width of space between the chain and your wrist.

Oxidation & Tarnishing

Oxidation naturally fades due to sweat, chlorine, perfumes, and cleaning agents—this is normal and not a defect. Avoid silver polish on oxidized (darkened) jewellery, as it removes the intentional blackened finish.

Cultured Freshwater Pearls

Pearls are delicate—never use silver polish, and avoid contact with makeup, lotions, and chemicals.

Enamel Details

Our Italian-made enamel is glass-free for enhanced durability.

Leather Care

As a natural material, leather may develop slight color variations and stretch over time. Avoid water exposure to prevent discoloration. When adding charms (max 7–9), hold the leather steady while twisting the charm on to avoid damage.

Macramé & Color Cords

Clean macramé bracelets gently with mild soap and water, but avoid prolonged soaking. Color cords (synthetic fibers) may fade or weaken if submerged.
